Born in Naples, Italy, Luigi Di Bernardo began to develop an interest in acting at the age of 20. He pursued the first step by concluding his training in the V.Bellini Academy.
His fascination rested on Stanislavski and Strasberg and led to two years oftraining on their techniques taught by Ilza Prestinari, who herself as a pupil inherited the method of Lee Strasberg. Alongside this, he improved his physical theatre techniques. In turn, he embraced corporeal mime taught by Michele Monetta and poor theatre techniques driven by Grotowski.
Now a trained actor in drama and comedy, Luigi has played roles ranging from characters written by Shakespeare to Peter Waiss, within accredited companies and theatres in both Italy and England.
He added to his theatrical portfolio with roles in the theatre, film and a web-based comedy series. Recent credits include playing Demetrius in a ‘Midsummer’s Night Dream’ and acting as a Patient in ‘Marat Sade’ by Peter Weiss at the Courtyard Theatre London. He has also performed as part of an ensemble as the character of Ghost in ‘Mary Rose’ at the Jack Theatre, followed by a role that was mentored by Lindsay Kemp, while performing as a Strong Man in’Crystal Me’ at the Hackney showroom.
After taking part in a series of screen acting workshops, principally with Colin David Reese London. Now, as an experienced screen actor, recent credits include performing in a short film called ‘Face in Salt’ with Joe Wallace and the web series,’Brothers With No Game’, by Leon Mayne.
His acting career has also evolved into a passion for performing as a voice-over artist and narrator. Recent credits have included advertisements for Epson printers, Pfizer Eliquis and Fabri Disease provided by Hogarth Worldwide and TVF communication. This has extended to providing a voice over service for an e-learning educational programming package for GOOGLE ‘CS FIRST’, ITALY,
Luigi is a dedicated and skilled performer. His muscular physique can, for some, shroud his flexibility and agility. With several years of kickboxing training, he would welcome roles that require various degrees of physicality, such as unarmed combat expertise. He is also a confident horse rider and a proficient, strong swimmer.
